Effective Date: September 14, 2026

Purpose Ink respects the privacy, intellectual property, and creative ownership of the authors and other individuals who use our website or communicate with us. This policy explains how information and submitted materials are handled, as well as the limitations that apply when information is transmitted electronically.

Privacy Policy

Information We May Collect

Purpose Ink may receive information that you voluntarily provide through our website, email, contact forms, or other communications. This may include information such as your:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Telephone number
  • Contact information
  • Project or manuscript information
  • Messages and correspondence
  • Documents, manuscripts, excerpts, images, or other materials you choose to submit

Our website may also collect ordinary technical information generated by website visits, such as IP addresses, browser information, device information, cookies, and website usage data.

How We Use Information

Information provided to Purpose Ink may be used to:

  • Respond to inquiries
  • Communicate with authors or prospective clients
  • Review submitted materials
  • Provide requested editorial, publishing, consulting, or related services
  • Maintain records relating to our communications or services
  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Purpose Ink website
  • Protect the security and integrity of our website and business

Purpose Ink does not claim ownership of an author’s work simply because it has been submitted to us.

Submitted Documents and Author Ownership

All manuscripts, documents, drafts, illustrations, creative works, and other original materials submitted to Purpose Ink remain the property of their respective authors or copyright owners.

Submitting material to Purpose Ink does not transfer copyright, ownership, publication rights, or other intellectual property rights to Purpose Ink unless a separate written agreement expressly provides otherwise.

When you submit material for review or services, you give Purpose Ink only the limited permission reasonably necessary to receive, open, store, review, reproduce internally, and otherwise handle that material for the purpose for which it was submitted.

Purpose Ink will not acquire ownership of your work through submission alone.

Confidentiality of Submitted Materials

Purpose Ink intends to treat submitted manuscripts and other unpublished creative materials with reasonable care and discretion.

However, electronic communications involve systems and networks that are not entirely under our control.

Documents submitted by email, through an internet connection, or through third-party communications or hosting services may pass through internet service providers, email providers, servers, network infrastructure, security systems, or other third-party systems before reaching Purpose Ink.

For this reason, Purpose Ink cannot guarantee the security, confidentiality, or privacy of any internet connection, email transmission, or other electronic method used to send materials to us.

Although we may take reasonable precautions once materials are received, we cannot guarantee that information transmitted electronically will not be intercepted, accessed, delayed, misdirected, corrupted, or otherwise compromised while in transit.

By submitting documents electronically, you acknowledge and accept the inherent risks associated with electronic transmission.

Authors should not send passwords, Social Security numbers, financial account information, medical records, or other highly sensitive personal information unless specifically requested and an appropriate secure method of transmission has been arranged.

No Sale of Submitted Creative Work

Purpose Ink does not sell, license, publish, distribute, or otherwise commercially exploit an author’s submitted manuscript or creative work merely because the work was submitted for review.

Any publication, licensing, distribution, editing, production, or other use beyond ordinary evaluation or performance of requested services must be governed by the applicable agreement between Purpose Ink and the author.

Service Providers

Purpose Ink may use third-party providers to support website hosting, email, document storage, communications, analytics, security, payment processing, or other business functions.

Information may therefore be processed or stored through systems operated by those providers when reasonably necessary to provide our services or operate the website.

Purpose Ink does not authorize third-party service providers to acquire ownership of an author’s submitted creative work merely because they provide technical infrastructure used to transmit or store it.

Cookies and Website Technology

The Purpose Ink website may use cookies and similar technologies necessary for website operation, security, analytics, functionality, or user experience.

Your browser may allow you to block or delete cookies. Disabling certain cookies may affect website functionality.

Information Sharing

Purpose Ink does not sell an author’s manuscript or personal information simply because that person contacted us or submitted a project.

Information may nevertheless be disclosed when reasonably necessary:

  • To perform services requested by the author
  • To authorized contractors or service providers assisting Purpose Ink
  • To comply with applicable law, court orders, subpoenas, or lawful government requests
  • To investigate fraud, abuse, security problems, or violations of legal rights
  • To protect Purpose Ink, its users, its clients, or others from harm
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, sale, restructuring, or transfer of business assets, subject to applicable legal obligations

Data Retention

Purpose Ink may retain communications, project information, submitted materials, and related records for as long as reasonably necessary to evaluate a submission, provide services, maintain appropriate business records, comply with contractual obligations, resolve disputes, or satisfy legal requirements.

Materials that are no longer required may be deleted or securely disposed of according to our normal business practices.

Electronic backups or archival systems may retain copies for a limited period after active records have been deleted.

Security

Purpose Ink may employ reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information under our control.

No website, email service, electronic storage system, or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Accordingly, Purpose Ink cannot warrant or guarantee absolute security.

Copyright Policy

Purpose Ink Website Content

Unless otherwise stated, the text, design, graphics, logos, images, branding, original educational materials, and other content created by or for Purpose Ink and displayed on the Purpose Ink website are protected by copyright and other applicable intellectual property laws.

Such material may not be reproduced, republished, distributed, modified, sold, or used commercially without appropriate permission from the applicable copyright owner.

Author-Submitted Content

Copyright in an author’s original work remains with the author or other lawful copyright holder.

Purpose Ink makes no claim of copyright ownership over an author’s manuscript, article, book, illustration, photograph, document, or other creative material solely because it is submitted to us.

Any transfer, assignment, license, work-for-hire arrangement, publication right, or other change in intellectual property ownership must be established separately and expressly in writing.

Responsibility for Submitted Material

By submitting material to Purpose Ink, you represent that you have the right to submit that material for the intended purpose.

You should not knowingly submit material that infringes another person’s copyright, trademark, privacy rights, contractual rights, or other intellectual property rights.

If a submission contains third-party material, the person submitting it remains responsible for obtaining any permissions that may be required unless Purpose Ink has expressly agreed in writing to obtain those permissions.

Copyright Complaints

Purpose Ink respects the intellectual property rights of authors and third parties.

If you believe that material appearing on a Purpose Ink website or under Purpose Ink’s control infringes your copyright, you may contact Purpose Ink with sufficient information to identify:

  • The copyrighted work involved
  • The allegedly infringing material
  • Where the material appears
  • Your contact information
  • The nature of your ownership or authorization to act for the copyright owner

Purpose Ink may investigate appropriate copyright complaints and take action when warranted.

Third-Party Websites

The Purpose Ink website may contain links to third-party websites or services. Purpose Ink does not control the privacy, security, copyright practices, or content of those third parties.

Use of third-party websites is subject to the policies and terms established by their respective operators.

Changes to This Policy

Purpose Ink may revise this Privacy and Copyright Policies page periodically to reflect changes in our practices, services, technology, or legal requirements.

When material changes are made, the effective date displayed at the top of this page may be updated.

Continued use of the Purpose Ink website after changes are posted constitutes use of the website under the revised policy.

Important Notice Regarding Electronic Submissions

Your work remains your property. Purpose Ink does not acquire ownership or copyright simply because you submit a manuscript or document to us.

However, email and internet communications necessarily travel through networks and systems outside Purpose Ink’s exclusive control. Purpose Ink therefore cannot guarantee the privacy, confidentiality, or security of the connection or transmission method used to send your material to us.
